FAQs

Q.

What is the FR-P cap?

A.

This is a special fuel receiver cap that we made to allow an easy push-pull operation to install and remove the fuel receiver cap. It makes it easier for the operator to install and remove the cap while wearing heavy gloves.

Q.

What is the flow rate of your fuel nozzles?

A.

Our standard FNBL and FN600 fuel nozzles are rated at 180 GPM although we have tested these at over 200 GPM. The FX1500 nozzle is rated at 400 GPM. We have a 3″ Nozzle that is rated at 1200 GPM. Our FN800 nozzle flows over 800 LPM (211 GPM) and is compatible with all standard 1 1/2″ receivers. FloMAX has a fuel nozzle to fit all of your fueling needs.

Q.

If I have a service truck that I need to drain a variety of fluids do I need a separate connector for each type of fluid that I want to drain?

A.

We had several requests to make a “Universal Extraction” nozzle to allow this very thing. At first we were somewhat hesitant to do this as it defeats the purpose of the entire colored non-interchangeable concept. We did however listen to the “Voice of the Customer” and made such a nozzle. It is in our catalog as a UN-34 and it will fit all of the ERS series of receivers. It has a one-way check valve that prevents any back flow of fluids during the extraction process.

Q.

What type of seals do you use in your fuel nozzles and why?

A.

We use Fluorosilicone seals as they are the best available for extreme temperatures and will seal in extremely low temperatures. They are very expensive but allow our nozzles to seal and not leak in Arctic type of temperatures.

Q.

How fast can I have my order shipped?

A.

We ship most orders within 4 hours of order receipt depending upon the size of the order.

Q.

Can I get customized colors for my product?

A.

Our non-interchangeable system is based upon having matching colors to fit a corresponding size. With that being said, we have a variety of colors available without any extra cost. If you need a special color we ask that you order a 50 pc minimum quantity and we can accommodate that need for a minimum additional cost that we incur from anodizing.

Q.

Can I get a fuel nozzle with a different shut off pressure?

A.

We custom make our fuel nozzles to shut off at any pressure from 5.5 psi all the way up to 15 psi. We do not charge any extra for this service, as we want our customers to get what they want.

Q.

If I need some custom machined parts to fit a certain requirement can you help me with that?

A.

Please contact us directly as we have a full service machine shop that has many years of experience in the Aerospace, heavy equipment and medical industries. We can work with you to see what your design requirements are and get you a quote.

Q.

Can your Non-Pressure system fit an internal line Caterpillar piece of equipment?

A.

Flomax makes a variety of adapters to fit many of the OEM machines. Most of non-pressure systems will
be a direct fit with the OEM equipment.

Q.

Will an ERS #1 Red receiver fit into an ENBL #4 Violet nozzle?

A.

Our colored series will not interchange with one another. The reason we developed this is to prevent fluid cross contamination. This means that a #1 Red receiver will only mate up to a #1 Red nozzle. This prevents anyone from inadvertently adding coolant to the engine oil or any other fluid filling mistake. This system is in use in all of our dry break connectors in the standard series, 3/4″ series and our high flow 1″ series. In the LEAN methodology this is a classic Poke Yoke or mistaking proofing concept.
